Purchasing Prints and Licenses
How can I buy a print from one of your images?
You can do so by opening the page that displays the image you want and clicking on the 'Add to cart' link. A popup will open, and you then need to select the tab 'Prints' (if it is not already selected), choose the size and finish of the print, and then clicking 'Add to Cart' if you want to buy some more prints, or 'Add and checkout' if you want to proceed directly to checkout. You then need to follow the instructions to select your shipping address, and the payment method.
All the prints you purchase in this web site will be printed by Spectrum Photographic Labs, which is a renowned photo lab based in the UK. They ship worldwide.
What sizes and finishes are available?
The available sizes for prints depends mainly on the format of the photo (2x3, square, panoramic). When you select the photo that you wish to buy as a print you can select which size you want. Please note that available sizes are in inches and not cm (1 in = 2.54 cm).
As for finishes, the lab I use for print fulfillment provides basically two kinds of prints: c-type or giclee. C-Type prints are done on Durst Lambda or ZBE Chromira printers, on either Fuji Crystal Archive Papers (Glossy, Matte or Luster finish), or Kodak Professional Endura VC Metallic Paper. Giclee prints are done on an Epson 9800 printer, on Somerset Enhanced Velvet or FibaPrint White Matte Papers.
Are your prints framed?
No, sorry. This happens for two main reasons. One: the lab I'm using is currently not offering framing services for this kind of online sales. Two: I believe that print frames depend on rather personal factors such as taste for colors and materials, or the location where the image will be displayed. Different kinds of frames are best for different occasions. Since I can't possibly know about your personal taste or about where you will display my images, I prefer to leave that choice to you.
If you still want your print delivered to you framed, please contact me, and I will do my best to provide print mounting or framing to your specifications.
What if there is some problem with the quality or delivery of my prints?
Please send me any feedback you have regarding your prints, be it good or bad. If you like your prints, tell me about it. If you feel that there is some problem with them, either because of print quality or of bad handling, or if you have any problem with the delivery, please let me know about it as well. I will then sort things out with the lab and let you know what happened.
Even though the prints are sent directly from the lab to you, my main concern is with their quality. So any feedback you can provide me regarding this issue is important to help me understand if everything is as it should be or if something needs improvement.
Can I buy a print from you directly?
You can. Just contact me directly and we'll sort out any details such as size, paper, framing, price and delivery method. But be warned that it may take longer to process than if you order from the web site.
What kind of payment do you accept?
You can pay with a PayPal account or by credit card. If you pay by credit card, don't worry because I won't be able to see your credit card details. Payment is done to Photoshelter, and the transaction is secure (for those of you who are web savvy, it means that the payment data you send is encrypted).
How do I license one of your images?
You can do so by opening the page that displays the image you want to license and clicking on the 'Add to cart' link. A popup will open, and you then need to select the tab 'Downloads' (if it is not already selected). Since I only offer rights-managed licensing, you will need to specify the region and purpose for which you are licensing the image, and a price will be computed automatically based upon your choices. Click 'Add to cart' to continue licensing other images, or 'Add and Checkout', if you wish to go directly to payment.
The image's licensing prices are computed automatically based on fotoQuote (industry standard software for rights-managed pricing).
What size and format will I get?
All images you license will be Adobe RGB 300 dpi tiff files, with a resolution of 1600 pixels on the largest side (for horizontal, vertical, or square images), and 2000 pixels on the largest side for panoramic. All my images online are in this size due to uploading time and space constraints. Should you require your licensed image to be larger, please contact me and I will be happy to provide you with an image in the resolution you need (up to about 4000 pixels on the largest side for all images except panoramic, and 10000 pixels for panoramic images).
Can I have other sizes and formats?
Sure! Should you have any requirements regarding image size and format, please contact me and I will do my best to provide you with the image in the size and format that you need.
What licensing schemes are available?
Right now I only provide commercial use rights-managed licenses. Images with rights-managed licenses are priced and purchased for a specific and explicit purpose, for a set period of time, in a set geographic location. The fee for the appropriate rights managed license will be determined based on that usage.
If you have any doubts, please check out the terms for rights managed licenses, or contact me.
I need a low-res comp for my project before I license your image. Is that ok?
Sure! Just go to the image or images you need, click on the Download Image link, and you will be able to download a 500px watermarked version of that image or images.
How come the license price yesterday was different than today's?
Licensing prices are automatically calculated in US Dollars (USD) and converted to Euros (EUR) according to the daily rates. So changes in prices reflect the fluctuation in conversion rates.
What is this Photoshelter thing?
Photoshelter is the internet service that I'm using to host my web site and my photos.
Do I really need to have a Photoshelter account?
If you want to buy prints or license any of my images, you do. It's necessary because it's the Photoshelter service that provides me with the ability to sell my images online and this allows me to keep track of my clients and to know for sure that they're real people. Don't worry. The private data you provide during sign up will remain private. And creating a Photoshelter account is completely free.

What if I forget my Photoshelter password?
Don't! Otherwise you'll never be able to buy stuff from me again... Just kidding, just go to the Client Area on the website and fill in your registered email address and a new password will be sent to you.
